We wanted to take the opportunity to do a short interview with Dominique about her previous work experience and share with you, her thoughts about why she wanted to become the face of LITA evangelizing Lean IT in the market.

LITA: Dominique we are all very excited that you have joined LITA. Would you share with our readers a little bit more about yourself?

Dominique: I’m excited about this opportunity to be the face of LITA, and I’m thankful for the trust the Board of LITA has put in me to make LITA a meaningful and knowledgeable Institute in our industry. I’m convinced we’ll be able to add value to organizations and individuals, working together with industry leading LITA partners and our enthusiastic and experienced team of marketing- and subject matter experts.

LITA: After so many years in the IT Space with you impressive career at Progress Software, HP Software and most recently ServiceNow what made you decide to focus on Lean IT?

Dominique:Technology is pushing businesses to transform; to change their way of working, as well as their organizational structures and the way people communicate internally and externally. However, technology by itself will not result in a better business outcomes or increased customer value. I’ve seen this many times, working for and with technology providers and trading partners.

I think we need to go back to the basics where people’s attitude and behaviour eventually are responsible for the biggest change, for continuous improvement. That said, Lean thinking and acting has proven itself already for so many years in Manufacturing and Services. Now is the time for IT to catch up and educate people about the techniques and tools that can support their customers transforming faster and smarter.

LITA: Why do you think Lean IT is so popular today?

Dominique: Not transforming or optimizing your organization to become more customer focused, more competitive and achieving better business results is not an option. Not succeeding also is not an option, as this will put your business at risk. Lean IT focuses on improving customer value. Lean IT empowers IT people to obtain more value out of existing and new technologies, best practices and processes already within a short period of time.

LITA: How do you see the connection between Lean IT, ITIL, Agile, and DevOps?

Dominique: Lean IT principles will determine how you want to run your IT business. ITIL®, Agile, DevOps will provide you the framework or best practices how to organize it. We consider Lean IT as the foundation of ITIL, Agile, and DevOps.

LITA: What made you want to take an Executive Leadership Role in LITA?

Dominique: I was surprised how little I’ve had heard about the value of Lean thinking in IT in all the years I’ve worked in the area of ITSM, BPM, and QA. I see great value in building the Lean IT community, communicating the value of Lean IT, growing the awareness with customers as well as with IT organizations and build up Lean IT skills and experiences.

LITA: What are your key objectives for LITA in your new role?

Dominique: My key objectives first of all is expanding Lean IT knowledge within end-user organizations as well as within Business- and IT Consulting and Training companies. The second is growing the Lean IT Community by sharing experiences and best practices. The third is building strategic alliances and relationships that will ensure LITA continues to lead, develop and expand it’s Lean IT competence model and curriculum.
