As the Chairman of the Board of Director’s for the Lean IT Association (LITA), it is my pleasure to welcome you to this inaugural edition of our new quarterly newsletter “Lean IT in Action”. In this newsletter we will share the highlights from LITA from last year and upcoming programs and news for Q4 2016.

LITA, as an organization, turned one year old on April 16th of this year, we wanted to celebrate our anniversary by sharing with you the accomplishments made in 2015 and the first half of 2016, which includes our continuing vision for promoting Lean IT in the market. Our LITA marketing leads have all contributed on their company perspectives and activities with LITA.

Six parties in the training and certification world decided to join forces in 2014. We set up a not for profit organization building a scheme aimed at practitioner organizations for Lean IT Training and Certification.

The purpose of our accreditation and certification scheme is to certify professionals in Lean IT on various levels and, more generally, to promote the application of Lean IT principles in the IT service development and operations department. We deeply believe in the positive impact of Lean IT on delivering products and services beyond customer expectations. It soon became clear that the joint forces enabled high speed development.

Lean IT Certification

During 2015/2016 a program of three certifications was developed, and one more envisioned for 2017. In March 2015 the Lean IT Foundation level was launched, followed by Lean IT Kaizen in October 2015. And we are proud to inform you that Lean IT Leadership is released.

The program is received well, and the first localizations of Foundation are available: Spanish, Japanese and Brazilian Portuguese. The market adoption has indeed raised the decision to make the body of knowledge freely available on the LITA website.

And we’ve only just begun!

We have seen significant accomplishments in the last year, and we expect much more to come. 2016 will be a year of strengthening the cohesion of the program and spreading the program over the globe. In 2017 the last certification in the program will be developed which is Lean IT Coach, will be a high profile and central role for the organization that takes their Lean IT journey seriously.

Thank you for your support, and I hope you enjoy our new Lean IT in Action newsletter!

Kind Regards,
Bernd
